Armful of roses

A photo of roses

A very dear friend gave me a gorgeous rose plant from David Austin Roses for a recent big birthday. Mr Little Brown Dog planted it in a lovely spot where we will be able to enjoy its scent coming in through the window.  At the moment though, it needs to gather a bit of strength and its flowers are bigger than its boots. I caught it the other day looking distinctly overwhelmed, with flowers bent down to the floor.

Only one thing for it; bring them inside and pop them in my favourite stoneware vase.

Roses
Rescued them the day before rainstorms, they would have been ruined. They have an amazing scent - rose; but it is reminiscent of aniseed. A variety named after Wollerton Old Hall in Shropshire.
